Given your questions and comments here are some tricks for beeing a highly effective user of Shoot'n Score It;
How to enter score sheets really really fast?
Use the TAB key to navigate everywhere on the form (TAB moves you forward, SHIFT+TAB moves you backwards in the form). When selecting Competitor from the drop down they are shown in numbering order, to select number 112 out of 300 simply enter 1, then 1, then 2 and SPACE. You can not be to slow in entering to select competitor but no need to lightning fast here... This allows you to navigate the form without ever leaving the keyboard.
How to create and manage teams (IPSC/USPSA)
Any approved competitor or organizer can create a team if teams are allowed (by default teams are disabled for a match, you need to enable it first). You can then 'invite' other team members (only an existing member, organizer or person that created team can invite someone). When inviting you will only see the other approved competitors of right division etc for the team. So, you can yourself not join a team. You need to be invited to it or added to it. If you are not organizer, when inviting someone they will both get an email with this and see info about this on their start page and the team page (....you are invited to TEAM XX -- accept or reject). They then need to accept the invitation to be a team member. As a team member you can invite others and also edit / delete other team members and team info. As organizer you can when inviting team members set status to accepted -- then they will not recieve any emails and become team member directly. Team results are visible under results on web page.
How can I use SSI with WinMSS
You can generate a backup-file of a match from SSI that will include all details from the match (match data, competitors, stages, scoring, squads, teams etc) on a format that can be directly imported into WinMSS.
This be of benefit in e.g. the following scenarios;
(1) You feel you need a back-up solution to only using SSI. Then use SSI for the complete match but take regular backups. In case of any problems (e.g. lost internet access at range) you can install the backup on a local PC running WinMSS.
(2) No Internet access at the range yet want to have web based registration and other features from SSI. You can then use SSI to organize the match, have people self register/squad/team etc and arrange for the match shop (merch, match ammo, t-shirts, ....), track payments from SSI and then you do a backup of the match and install this at the range and do all scoring locally using WinMSS there.
(3) Upload classifier results to ipsc.org. Arrange and shoot match using SSI, then do backup and import to WinMSS and from WinMSS upload classifier results for the shooters ICS class to ipsc.org using WinMSS.
To use this feature you simply generate the backup file under 'the match you organize' - 'reports and scoresheets' - download backup for WinMSS. Detailed instructions are included.
